Hi guys! Amazing feels that I am finally posting about this considering that I’ve wanted to for ages. A lot came up and I had to put it aside for a little-not-so-little while. S0 today we’re talking about skirts. Yes SKIRTS! You’re probably wondering what it is about skirts.
Let me explain.
I’ve always been fashion conscious even as a kid, but the one thing I couldn’t stand were skirts. Two reasons; I was part tomboy and I thought they were boring. But the amazing thing about personal style is it evolves. You can’t have a particular style for an entire lifetime, you pick and drop some pieces, regardless of whether or not they’re in trend. So baby is a little grown up now and it hits me like an epiphany that I’ve been missing out not wearing skirts. I’m totally into them now, long and short alike. grin.
My new love for skirts prompted me to make this post, where I’m featuring a black pencil skirt and a mini full skirt, since both are my current favorites. The full mini skirt I love because of it’s romantic floral prints, and is a choice that is flattering for most women regardless of their bodyshape.
Here, as styled in the picture above, paired with a tank top, and pop socks for modesty sakes. Accessorized with a fringe necklace, minimal earrings and bangles, And black pumps too, for a girly party look.
I’m totally in love with this look for it’s chick simplicity.
Now to the black pencil skirt.
This skirt, I have to admit I have over-worn it, so much that I actually wish I had bought a pair of the same skirt. I mean look at it, it’s so versatile, and it doesn’t even need a special occasion. From running to the grocery store to religious occasions, this skirt got you. And do I need to add that it is super comfy(except when paired with 4inch heels) haha. For this post, I styled with a yellow tank top, denim jacket, bronze tribal necklace, a lone bracelet and red sandals and of course, hair laid. I also picked my colours in an attempt to play with colours. Colour is an elixir, and if it takes a blend of a couple to make you feel feminine and confident, by all means , please carry on.
The general rule is to stick to a maximum of three colours in any given outfit, with a neutral colour as a base. I also always stick to minimising the detailing of my outfit so as to maximize the outfit’s versatility, which is what a black pencil skirt is for anyway.
I hope you love the outfits and the styling, for both looks.
